Here is your getaway at 5900 ft elevation. High enough to escape from all the problems of life in the city. Located in a nice recreataional subdivision of 60 developed lots in the middle of the Lincoln National Forest. Mostly retirees and weekenders own up here. This property is 300 feet from the Forest boundary. Plenty of pinon pine and juniper, with some oak trees also. The dwelling is a 1976 mobile home, 80 x 14 ft. The septic system was installed new in 2001. I have lived here for 5 years and buy water from neighbors (have 1000 gallon tank). Most residents here have invested in wells; the price to drill one is $20,000, and good water is available at 700 feet deep in these mountains. Weather in this location seldom sees snow in winter. The forest has numerous cactus and wild flowers and is picturesque. This is 1/8 mile off of the Queen Highway, 50 miles from Carlsbad (nearest city). The Guadalupe Mountain National Park is at the end of Queen Highway, which is not a through-way so no big trucks come by and it is truly peaceful, especially at night when the stillness is complete, and you can see the Milky Way just like it is within reach! |
