Custom built Stephen Fuller (of Atlanta) designed home (WITH ELEVATOR), featuring TOTAL SECLUSION, but yet RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING. Due to limited space, the following description is extremely condensed. If you feel the home is right for you, please email for a much more detailed description and many more pictures. LOCATION This Williamsburg Style home sits on top of a small hill, with 4+ acres of "total seclusion". BUT it's only 1-3 BLOCKS ! to Nash Medical Center, our most prestigious Country Club, Food Lion, Parkwood Baptist Church, Fire Station/Rescue Squad, Cracker Barrel, Convenient Mart, motels, restaurants, more. 1 MILE, or less, to Home Depot, Lowes, Super Walmart, Sams Club, Boice Medical Clinic, ABC Store, Target, Pizza Hut, Golden East Mall, several restaurants, and much more. 1-1/2 MILES to our main Nash Hospital, Premier multi-screen Theatre, Hwy. 64 By-Pass, motels, and many other businesses. I-95 is just a couple of miles away. Yet, it still sits on 4.1 wooded acres. When we considered the cost of traveling to and from for dozens of reasons day-in day-out, for years -when gas was 1.15 -we concluded we would be better off building on alarge lot so located. Rocky Mount is perfectly situated between the Smoky Mountains and the beach, at the intersection of Hwy. 64 (E-W) (Gateway to the Outerbanks)and I-95 (N-S). We have been chosen by Ford's Colony of Williamsburg to locate its next venture. The project is already started, with the majority of phase 1 lots already purchased (by people all over the country). If you have not heard of Ford's Colony, go to their web site, or visit their location in Williamsburg, VA. It is an extremely high-end retirement & golf resort. Rocky Mount is so honored to be picked for their newest project. The homes are nice, but rather small lots. If this is the type of resort home you would like, please contact Ford's Colony. You will be very pleased. Homes are just being built. Forbes Magazine just listed the coast and mountains of NC to be the next explosive real estate area. They described these areas as the next Miami. Rocky Mount is 2 hours from the coast, and 3 hours from the mountains. NC was recently ranked #1 in the nation for in-bound migration, and NC has just dropped the sales tax. You can't have better weather. Rarely too hot or cold. Utilities are averaging us about $375.00 per month, and that's with 3 adults (one of which is elderly and has to have it very warm in the winter, and plenty cool in the summer). The home is very well insulated, and very efficiently positioned. Rocky Mount just completed our new culture and science/arts complex, and a huge multi-park sports complex and stadium. Our city also boasts a library superior to many college libraries. Sorry for so much emphasis on location, but isn't location everything? THE HOME We moved in at the beginning of 2001. We oversaw every detail. Nothing went overlooked. The builder called it his "Pride and Joy". The foundation and framing were described by several knowledgeable people, as well as the inspector, as "incredible" and "extremely well done". We have pictures of all walls before sheetrock went up to show routing of all plumbing, wiring, etc. The home has been totally pet free, smoke free from day one. Paint still new, hardwood still has original shine. 3-1/2 baths -PLUS a toilet and jumbo sink in garage. Sunroom, study, breakfast room, dining, greatroom -with custom built 2-level mantel, and large walk-in pantry that has additional counter space with drawers, outlets and lights. Master bedroom is downstairs. There is a second, smaller, master bedroom/bathroom upstairs. This room and second bedroom beside it, have insulated interior walls/floor for noise supression. This upstairs master bathroom is totally handicapped accessible. It has shower bars, Moen scold-proof shower head with long flexible shower head, and high-rise toilet and vanity for less bending. All room doors upstairs are 36in. for walker/wheelchair access. The home has a full size 3-level ELEVATOR that goes from the garage ground level, directly to the hallway at the kitchen, and then opens directly to the second master bedroom upstairs. You may not have a current need for an elevator, but life can change fast. Even a minor physical problem can makehalf of a 2-story home totally useless. An elevator will guarantee full usage of a 2-story home no matter what happens to someone physically. Huge 3-car garage -with incredible storage and shelving, Hurricane-proof shingles (110mph), gray natural slate front porch, extra large deck that is almost the full length of the home. The deck has Timbertec Flooring, not wood. So there is no warping, shrinking, nails, etc. There is a hot water line circulation pump giving INSTANT hot water to the entire downstairs, and quick hot water to the upstairs. This pump is on a timer, and/or can be controlled by a remote control. Irrigation system with separate water meter to eliminate sewer charges -outside faucets also run off this water meter. There is also one HOT water outdoor faucet at parking pad. The home has hardwood downstairs with large 3" planks for Williamsburg look, carpet upstairs, and ceramic tile in sunroom, all 3 full baths, and also on stairway risers. There is crown molding throughout the entire home -up and downstairs, chair rail throughout 95% of the downstairs, thousands of dollars of transoms, and NO wallpaper anywhere. All windows have plantation blinds and are the highest quality with ultraviolet protection for furniture fading protection -sunroom furniture and cushions have had no fading after 6 years of direct sun. Highly efficient Rock-Wool insulation, under house fans for air circulating humidity control, dual Trane HVAC units -upstairs and downstairs - both units feature Tranes patented dust filtration and humidity control additions, gas logs are unvented so 100% of the heat stays inside. They can easily heat 90% of the entire home in case of problems with either heating unit - if all power goes out, these logs can easily heat all upstairs and some of downstairs. Garage is heated and air conditioned with separate units from main home, insulated, sheetrockedand painted-walls and ceiling, and has 3 ceiling fans and a window exhaust fan. Home positioned on lot for maximum cool and heat efficiency - during winter on a sunny day, the heat from the sunroom keeps both heat units from ever coming on. The attic has a built in carpeted stairway, and is huge -plans were to build a home theatre. There is also another large "hidden" attic over the garage that is accessible only through the backdoor of the elevator -no one would ever know its there - perfect for a game room/bar/childs hideaway, husband/wife hideaway, etc. To the left of the house is a creek and pond. Majority of our land is behind the home for less mowing. The lot is beautifully sloped for excellent drainage, with no high trees near. The only neighbor is to the right about 1-1/2 football fields away, AND there is a legal, properly court filed, binding contract stating neither party can erect another dwelling, on the total of 9 or 10 acres. So, there is no way there will ever be any dwelling built near the home, because the contract is binding upon us, our neighbor, and all future buyers of either property. No dwelling can be built, but anything else can be -workshop, storage, home business, farming/gardening, playground, etc. You never know what can one day happen to a "neighborhood". Even the best neighborhood can deteriorate very quickly destroying your value. You are always at the mercy of the neighbors. This will NEVER happen with this lot. That's why we wanted to build on plenty of land, and have such a contract. Please note, THE DRIVE has NOT been paved. WE will pay to have it paved for the buyer, using the concrete company the buyer chooses. We knew the city was planning a new drainage line down our side of the road, so we held off paving knowing this work would just destroy the concrete. The drainage system is completed, but now we can't pave due to almost a daily need to transport an elderly parent to and from the doctor and rehab, and new concrete can't be driven on for 8 days. We recently got quotes, and they averaged $5,000.00. The driveway is not that long. So we will have to set a limit of $6,000.00 to have it paved. No one wants to have to park on the road for 8 days, so the ideal time to pave is between buyer/seller occupancy. However, the concrete parking pad is huge, much larger than the plans. We decided to wrap the parking pad around the garage for extra parking, or car washing, working, etc. THE GEEK STUFF 5.1 Bose TS surround sound in greatroom -this was pre-wired in wall so no exposed wires or unattractive floor stands, large screen sony tv in wall with cooling fans -this will stay since it took an act of congress to get it installed, -a 60" flat screen would fit perfectly, right over the existing sony, incredible security system with several currently installed active cameras -wired for over two dozen inside and outside cameras, high speed internet wired to 4 rooms, garage and even the even the deck, stereo speakers in sunroom and master bedroom, 6 exterior Bose speakers on deck and under the deck, 4 speakers under house for security, cable tv wired to 10 rooms plus garage, under house completely lit and telephone installed, motion detectors at every flood light signaling mild buzzers under the house that don't bother you inside -faintly heard, but heard clearly outside, unless louder is desired- or can turn lights on inside. All security wiring, even camera wires home-run to master bedroom closet for monitoring cameras and security system control all in one area -cameras can also be viewed from tv. Garage doors wired to dial cell phone whenever opened if traveling or at work. In addition to internet jack, the study has 2 wall jacks for stereo headphones leading to central stereo area. Thank you for viewing.
