From the moment you drive through the horse head gates, handcrafted by a local artist, one feels great anticipation for what is to come. This home was designed and constructed by the owners for their love of horses. Five family tobacco barns, one being hand-hewn logs, were dismantled for the warm, rich beauty of their heart-pine wood. The wood was carefully treated & planed by hand to create the unique distressed look that was obtained by a local cabinet maker in designing all the custom cabinets for the home. The beautiful, rich wood was also used for flooring, as well as interior doors, and the logs were used as railings, beams, and window trim. |
