AN EXCEPTIONAL LAKEHOUSE
SETTING:
* Reynolds Landing gated golf community with a multitude of exciting amenities (see www.reynoldslanding.com).
* One of the best fishing coves on one of the premier fishing lakes in the southeast (see www.oconee.org).
* An outstanding lot with majestic trees that shelter our house from the summer heat and provide exceptional scenic beauty all year long.
All of the elements mentioned above provide the setting for a home that has been truly special to us for many years. It was conceived with an eye to what lake living is all about and designed to accommodate guests, whether family or friends, that will want to visit you at the lake.
FEATURES:
The house has seven bedrooms including a huge master bedroom with its own private deck in the trees. It has six full bathrooms. It has three finished floors with an elevator that not only allows handicap access, but provides constant practical benefits in moving a variety of items from floor to floor.
Because lake living means a heavy demand for ice, we included a Kitchenaid free standing ice maker in the kitchen. Once you have tasted the ice this ice maker provides, you will never want to go back to ice from a refrigerator ice maker. The difference is night and day!
In addition to the private deck for the master suite, there is a huge wrap around deck on the main level with a windowed room with a ceiling fan for days that are not perfect for open deck use (a little wet or a little chilly). On the lower level there is another huge enclosed deck with four ceiling fans. This deck could easily be heated and cooled for year round enjoyment.
An oversized two-car garage is lined with lots of cabinets for storage of all kinds of gardening and other items. Two storage rooms one the size of a garage on the lower level provide lots of storage space for all the items homeowners accumulate.
The house is served by three Lennox heat pumps with propane backup heat. The propane is stored in the largest underground tank available which usually avoids refilling in the winter when prices are higher. This tank is also connected to a large grill on the main level deck which means there is never a need to change out tanks.
BEDROOMS:
The master bedroom is on the top floor and has a treyed ceiling with two ceiling fan light fixtures. Theres plenty of room for a king sized bed and a sitting area. The bath has a unique jetted tub that is like the whirlpools used in medical facilities. The shower has a seat which can be used for all kinds of shampoos and soaps as well as a place to sit down if needed. Its walls are cultured marble for easy maintenance and true beauty. The bath also includes a kitchenette. We have a full size refrigerator and a double sink for practical purposes, but this could be changed easily to make it more elegant if that is your taste. There are two closets one large closet with his and hers sides and cabinets for shoes and other storage, and a second cedar lined closet with shelves and hanging area to keep wool clothing safe from moths.
A second bedroom on the upper level has a Jacuzzi tub in its own private bath so that guests can enjoy a whirlpool bath without using the master bathroom. Two other bedrooms on the same level share a bath with a separate private tub/toilet area and twin sink cabinets far enough apart that no one is crowded. This level also includes a bonus room that is currently being used as an exercise room with a stairway (not pull down stairs) to attic storage.
The main level has a bedroom with a private entry to the bath that serves this floor. Again, the tub/toilet area is private from the sink area and there is a sizeable linen closet in the bathroom. The lower level has twin bedrooms that share a shower bath with a private shower/toilet area and twin sinks (these bedrooms are currently being used as a sewing room and an office, but were once used for our grandchildren when they were younger).
Every guest bedroom has a walk-in closet and a ceiling fan light fixture.
MAIN FLOOR:
The main floor has a large two story entry with a gorgeous stairway and an impressive ceiling fixture. To the right is the dining room with a beautiful built-in butlers pantry. Straight ahead is the great room with a ceiling fan light fixture and the largest wood stove available from Vermont Castings. This stove provides beauty and efficiency, lighting easily and providing exceptional heat. An easily removable ash container makes maintenance a breeze.
On one side of the great room is a bonus room that could be an office with sliding glass pocket doors for privacy when needed. This room is currently used as a music room. A shelved closet provides storage for music or office supplies or whatever.
On the other side of the great room is the eat-in kitchen with beautiful maple cabinets and a sizeable island with a six-burner Viking gas cooktop. A double wall oven with true convection provides lots of room for fixing large meals. The island and the main counter area have Corian counter tops with built-in sinks that have no seams to allow dirt to hide. While working at the sink, there is an outstanding view of the lake and the dock area.
The laundry room is just off the kitchen for convenience and there are two storage pantries to provide plenty of space for food and appliances.
DOCK:
The boat dock includes two electric boat lifts with remote controls. One is used for a twenty-four foot deck boat and one for a twenty-four foot pontoon boat. These lifts can be adjusted to fit any boat you may have. The water depth at the dock is over ten feet. |
