The spring fed pond is 6 miles long, 3 miles wide, and over 185 feet deep. The water is so clear and clean that it rivals Poland Spring bottled water. (In fact, Poland Spring is pumped from wells about 10 miles from the Pond.) Embden Pond is one of the best, cleanest ponds in Maine. This home is situated on well over three acres of beautiful, heavily wooded forestland with over 130' of shore frontage.

The top floor has two guest bedrooms and a dedicated stereo listening room. Each of these rooms is good sized and each room has 2 separate closets. Each has a large window that also overlooks the front lawn and water frontage. The view from each room is spectacular. There is a large, full bathroom on the top floor.
The Master suite is located downstairs and has a large master bedroom with its sitting room, a large walk-in closet, and a full bathroom. The master bedroom has a small covered patio for outdoor access and to enjoy the pond. This patio is wired for a hot-tub or spa. There is a Finn-Leo sauna and an exercise/home gym room adjacent to the Master bedroom. There is also another full bathroom in the downstairs hallway.

The home is heated via forced air heat, but also has two new large wood stoves, a Napoleon on the lower level and a Jotul on the middle floor. Two large oil tanks are enclosed in the attached garage and provide fuel for the longest winter. Initially, the home was designed to be heated only with wood, therefore it is extremely well insulated and has Peach-Tree double insulated windows though out. The home is nestled within the forest, which provide provides shelter from the harsh, cold winter winds which allow for the excellent heating efficiency during the winter months. Eight remote controlled ceiling fans aid in air circulation. The home has two wells (285' & 480' deep) and the water tests and tastes excellent. The home also has a new 30 year roof.
This home provides recreation opportunities for all four seasons. During the Spring and Summer, beyond the front lawn with its fire pit is the beautiful pond, where you can swim, ski, fish, or just hang out. The light house on the front lawn even works to help guide you home after a moonlight cruise. The 60' aluminum dock has its own fireplace, benches, and is lit up at night with solar lamps. Or perhaps hop on your ATV and ride up the driveway and only about 500 yards north, you will find the ATV riding trails in the Concord forests, which connect to the Maine ATV trails all over Maine and up into Canada. During the Fall, the foliage is absolutely spectacular and hiking in the beautiful woods is wonderful. The hunting is excellent and you only have to go up the driveway and across the road. During the Winter, the home is only 50 yards from a major snow mobile path and ice fishing on the pond abounds. The home is only 25 miles from the Sugarloaf Ski Resort. So whatever outdoor recreation you prefer, whether it be fishing, boating, skiing, hiking, leaf peeking, hunting, snow machine, winter sports, etc., this home will provide the opportunity.
If you should desire to just relax and watch nature. This home is great. There are numerous flocks of wild turkeys that visit from time to time. There are several families of loons that call this end of the Pond their home and many, many pairs of ducks show off their babies. There are beaver, ermine, and more types of other birds than you can count, including the Bald Eagles that cruise the shoreline. Of course, the deer are around all of the time and you see an occasional moose wandering around. Every morning the beautiful sunrise sparkling across the pond is spetacular and reinforces your decision to live here.
