St. Louis County is known for its spectacular natural beauty, including a national forest and a national park, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is located on the U.S.-Canadian border. BWCAW is a 1,090,000-acre (4,400 km2) wilderness area within the Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota; it is designed for fishing camping and canoeing and is one of the most visited wilderness areas in the US. St. Louis also has a great national park. Voyageurs National Park is a United States National Park in northern Minnesota near the town of International Falls. The park is known for its great water resources and is widely known for its canoeists, kayakers, other boaters and fishermen. St. Louis County also has over 500 lakes some of the more known ones include: Lake Kabetogama, Lake Namakan, Rainy Lake, Sand Point Lake, and Crane Lake. This great county also has one of the most important fresh water ports in the U.S which is located in Duluth on Lake Superior. St. Louis County has many large forests, lakes, rivers and national parks, and also has a major city in Duluth that has one of the largest freshwater ports and Hibbing which has a significant mining industry. The Hill of Three Waters lies between Hibbing and Chisholm.
